Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial arts artist, and competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is older than her fellow UFC fighter and Former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sporting career as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007, a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as a medal gold in 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in the year 2016. Antonia began her professional journey in by ringing in 2003. She won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships 2012, the Lightweight Lion Fight Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's fight for her final title took place at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by a the unanimous verdict. Antonina shevchenko made her debut in a professional MMA fight back in 2002 against Anara bayanova, who was fighting at KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan. She won the second round TKO fight and her subsequent two fights at the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003, resulting in her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing and made her comeback with Anissa Haddaoui Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko was able to defeat Anissa via unanimous decision and later defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her superior striking abilities in the clinch by knees to body. The result was that Antonina received an UFC contract. Antonina was offered her a UFC contract after winning. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but lost her subsequent fight to Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision. Antonina recovered from the loss to beat Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this match. Shevchenko had a 2-1-2 record in her following three fights.
