Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it with Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November 2018, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled The No One as well as Pdigree. They then teamed up on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same title. The track was accompanied by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 that surpassed three million views via YouTube within one week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
